The Vajrabhairava Lineage Masters are listed as the Gelug tradition has them. Our (canonical) list follows the lineage from the Indian mahasiddha Lalitavajra and the Tibetan translator Ra Lotsawa to the 20th century master H.E. Ling Rinpoche, one of the two senior teachers of H.H. the XIV Dalai Lama who is the current lineage holder. There are other lineages of Vajrabhairava (=buffalo-headed form of Yamantaka) in the Sakya tradition, and of Yamantaka in the Nyingma and Kagyu schools which are outside the scope of this website.

The following line drawings are by Andy Weber (www.andyweberstudios.com). The biographical data were checked against TBRC 's excellent knowledge base. By typing in the Tibetan name of lineage holder into their search engine more biographical can be found. The line drawings of the lineage masters can also be downloaded as a icon PDF document (2.22 MB).

Click on the "Read more" button/link below and the gallery of the lineage masters will open.
